LUXURY COLOR DESCRIPTIONS

OMBRÉ

A French colouring technique that refere’s a “shade” or shadow” it’s the gentle shift of color from the scalp, to the ends. This is a very natural sun-kissed effect that we often see in children’s hair, only enhanced.

The effect can be very subtle and create gentle depth and movement, or dramatic for a more high-fashion effect. This effect is versatile and suitable for medium to long hair.

In its subtle form, Ombré is a seamless transition from a darker deeper tone and level at the scalp area generally close to the natural colour, to a slightly lighter level and tone through the mid-lengths, and even lighter through the ends. This is a beautiful effect when hair is styled with beach waves.

In its dramatic form, this multi toned colour effect is generally darkest at the top of the head and transitions to the lightest effect at the bottom. This effect

In it’s high-fashion form, the color effect is flipped so that the lightest is at the top and either darker or has a high-fashion vibrant color towards the bottom with a melted color effect.

BALAYAGE

Balayage is a freehand hand painting technique that concentrates on the surface of the hair, this technique leaves the underside darker, resulting in a natural effect that mimics a sun-kissed look. The effect can be dramatic or subtle depending on the amount of lightening as well as how many sections are uses.

With Balayage, A sweeping motion along the surface of the hair is used to create the seamless light reflection.

Balayage can be done on any hair colour and is beautiful on long and medium length hair.

Unlike Ombré, where there is a gradient fade line between the colours, Balayage highlights blend seamlessly into your natural colour and provides a focus around the face while created movement throughout the hair. Baby-lights around the face with Balayage creates the perfect balance of light reflection and shadowing creating natural depth movement.

Balayage requires little touching up as it grows.
